Buying Pioneer DEH-P880PRS online

I went to have a look at the DEH-P880PRS in a store down here in Edmonton and the going rate is around $585 US. I can save almost $250 if I buy the same HU online. I'm a little worried though about getting scammed / having problems with the HU later on.

Can you guys tell me your experiences with buying HU's online? Recommend any places that ship to Canada. Thanks.

Eventhough I've read and heard horror stories from them, I ordered mine from Ikesound a little while back. Ive never had a problem with them.

If it's a cool shop then i would recommend spending dough with them instead though.

i got mine on ebay for $300 shippedcame packed great, shipped very fast, works like new, cause oh wait, it is new.

No issues whatsoever.

Yeah I had a poll here decide for me to purchase this HU.

I paid $303 shipped from some place out in California. I just got around to paying for it today and should probably have it buy Monday at the latest next week.

If you buy from a reputable dealer on ebay with a ton of positive feedback I doubt you will have any problems at all.

Make sure you pay with a credit card or use paypal so you can reverse charges if you run into problems.

Has anybody bought one of the Squaretrade or Ebay extended warranties? They seem to be fairly reasonably priced....around $30 for a 3 year warranty on a new or refurbished $300 head unit. Seems like that should make the purchase almost as good (if not better) than buying authorized.

Well, my beloved Xterra was ripped off this morning, so here i am looking for new stuff already. I have to propose sticking with the Kenwood, after all, you can't hook up a Phatbox to the Pioneer, right???

I couldn't live without my Phat 30 gig cartridge plugged in under my seat!

And these suckers are going for as little as $250 on Ebay?

PS - go ahead online. I got my (now gone) X979 on Ebay for like 4350 2 years ago.

The top-models (non-DVD) are going for like $250 ish also?

If the feedback is excellent, he's dealing the same profduct as the stores...minus the chandelier charge, hehe.

I do not recommend squaretrade, they 'took my case' charged me $30 and never did I hear or get a single thing from them. Squaretrade is a legal scam, nothing more.

Hehe, I'm a gambling man, so far I've come out a winner. I built my entire system

for $2000, would have cost much, much, MUCH more had I gone to a dealer.

But as i said, I did see a few recent listings on Ebay that state they're an authorized dealer, and remember feedback is everything!

And the Kenwood lets you run this product via the CD Changer function on the HU.

Stick with Kenwood dude, you won't be sorry!
