Buying a system, Need some Advice

I currently have a 10 inch alpine type E in a ported box, but i find the bass way too boomy. I now have money to buy something more expensive so I'm getting rid of the sub and box and buying all new gear, including a Sub amp. So, whats the difference between a 10, 12 or 15 inch Sub? also, should I get 2 subs over just 1? I should mention that I'm looking for sound quality, but I want the sub/subs to hit low.

i have an audison lrx 1.400 it a class a/b mono does 900 watts in 1 ohm and if your going for sq. ur not going to get much better or equal for what im asking. 300 shipped. it near perfect. no scratches no nothing. it looks bnib. slight usage.

as far as sub's go id look into maybe 2 12" arc audio woofers, oz matrix elite, idq v3's, or 1 12" idmax.
