buss bar question

Good evening eveyone. What would happen if ur amps fuse count adds up to 400 amps and you ground the two amps to a buss that is only rated for 150 amps. Will it blow your fuses or worse? Thank you for your time.

Why do you have a ground buss? Something tells me that's not what you meant.

Mr. McIntosh thank you for taking the time to view my question. To be honest with you I did mean a buss bar. Reason being I wanted to use a buss is so I could salvage the ot wire that was installed in the previous install. This is the first time I've ever installed a system myself. Once again thank you for your time.

A buss bar like a piece of metal of copper right? Youre sure that it cant handle more than 150 amps? Howd you get to that number? Any pictures of it?

A buss that's rated for 150 amps is just that. 400 amps is over it's rating considerably and should not be used.

seems like you answered your own question. not a good idea.

That table seems about right. The rule of thumb is one square inch of cross section is 1,000 amps.
