Burnt Voicecoil?

My Sub won't work unless i push down on it. I'm pretty sure its bad voice coil. What do i do to fix it? I only put about 500-600 watts on it, and its supposed to handle 1000 rms, 2000 max. really frusterated right now.

Depends on where it's broken...

usually its under the dust cap where the tinsel lead meets the coil lead.. if you can remove the cap and dig out the leads you can resolder & reglue it...

new wire is usually the best bet...... it's too short to reliably repair most of the time. i've seen it broke under the dustcap before, but it's rarare.

I'll take a look at it tomorrow, but it didn't look any different last time i looked at it which was before i reconnected it and it still didnt work.
