Built in crossovers??

Hi guys, on my amp there is( HPF, FULL, LPF) i can switch the button to either on. Also a subsonic and a turn button where writen 0dB,6dB etc...

the dB turn button is the bass boost? if i chose to use HPF it means that only high frequencies will pass to speakers? lets say i have in the HPF a range from 250 Hz to 1Khz and i turned the button to 500Hz( will it means that only frequencies from 250 to 500Hz will pass to the speakres? i will use the HPF for my speakers, the LPF for my sub, and the subsonic what for?? thnx again
