building ported enclosures

ok, i am going to build a enclosure for my 2 si mags (which i don't have yet but here comes the reason why)

i want to learn how to go about building my box before i have the subs in my hands and I like learning new things.

i know how to cut, glue,clamp,screw,and put together everything...

just don't know how to go about the mathematics part of it.

how do i make a box about certain tuning? IE: 20HZ 30HZ and so on...

and how do i know how much volume and displacement and port length and area each sub calls for?

thats....i know its a lot of questions....but i would really like to learn this art of building sub woofer enclosures, because i want to do it my self rather than have someone do it for me.

thats the thing...i have no idea were to start when even building a box...

i would ask or pay someone to do it for me....but i like learning about this stuff....

if anyone could show me a thread that could point me in some sort of direction.
