Building My Own Line Drivers

Can I take the + and - Speaker wires and splice them directly to the + and - of an RCA wire to make an Amp level input? I am thinking of selling my current system to a friend with a 94' Ford Windstar with the stock stereo. Anyhow I was wondering if I could tap into the rear speaker wiring and just splice off it to wire the amp. I don't think he can afford a HU right now otherwise I would do it normally.

No you can not do that. You have tog et a LineOutput Converter (LOC) they are cheap, like $7 for a normal one with no gain settings on it. You oculd build a LOC but just as cheap to buy one for the little money they are.

Some amps do have a speaker line input and it converts it down inside the amp.
