digidash hit the gas...
I ripped the really nasty carpet out of the trunk of my civic and Ill be building a false floor for it. Any tips? I was going to get some cardboard and cut it to the exact layout of the trunk. I was also going to use a level to make sure it was flat so the sub doesnt move around much.
Since I plan on selling the car in a few months I want this to look better then stock. (stock was some ratty particle board that only covered the spare tire well, not the entire trunk floor, and with some nasty moldy carpet on top.
Im mainly wondering what to build it out of. MDF is fairly expensive but it does cut and sand nicely. Would plywood be better?
I am also trying to decide if I want to coat it in bedliner or carpet. I think carpet would look the best for selling the car later but when I carpeted a sub box a few months back I was never happy with how it looked. I used spray glue from a can and it never seemed to adhere the carpet well enough.
Also has to be fairly removable so I can access the spare if I have to.
