... But if you don't wanna pay the $140 for each sub.

my buddy has my old hifi subs in jis jeep for like a year now on 600w beatin the dogshit out of them, I would put them up against $100 a peice subs any day

you musta had some factory refurbished subs.... cuz I was pushing mine @ first with an MA Audio HK401sx ( 1800wrms @ .5 DAILY )

... And they took that just fine... ( 4 of them before I added the other 2 )

But all to their own, Ultimate decision is up to he himself.

Type R's beat the hell down for the price, Mine definitely surprised me!

I wanted to do 12 funky pups walled in my Nissan Sentra for shits and giggles!

... But yeah - HiFi's are good... Type Rs will slam ( I just hate that burnt popcorn smell if you giving them the juice! )

And funky pups - They are the ShizNIT!

i had 4 older type R 12's (swr-1241) b4 i switched to JL W3v2's...(sealed) ran by a mmats dhcx2200.1, the sounded pretty good and got loud but i couldnt turn the gain up much more than 1/4 way.. they seemed like they wanted to take the power but one day while showing it off, tore bout 2" of the surround off one sub... sold them the same day!! only lost $30ish from what i payed!! LOL

Yeah... Type Rs give people are false sense of what they can take.

i have 2 baskets and motors from the 1242 series... thought about getn them reconed by fixmyspeaker or pierce audio.....
