custom build sub question

ive never reconed a sub before, but would like to try it. my question is, if you are taking a basket off of of sub, and a motor off a different, and will be building it completely from scratch, where would i go to get the "recone" parts for something like this? will be a 15" basket from one of the cheapy subs i got when i was first starting in car audio

exactly my point, its just something ive seen multiple ppl on here doing, thought it was cool and would really like to give it a shot.

He will need to know what specs to give them to be able to order the right parts. And to not waste their time by asking "how do I find that out".....he needs to read and do his homework before ordering.

Yes, you have to start somewhere, but there has been plenty of discussion lately on rebuilding subs. Judging by the original question, he hasn't read one.

If your looking for soft parts, PSI would be a good place to start. I'm sure you could email them with your basket and motor and they could help you out.

cast baskets a pretty universal woofer to woofer, if you have a steel basket just chuck that, you can get recone parts from a few different people, the main thing they need to know is what motor you have or you have to measure a few things

thanks, the motor is still undecided, im going through now searching threads and looking online for more information on this topic and was really looking for a quick answer while i was searching.
