I have personally owned 2 , the 1st i burned(user error) sendind it 550 wrms lasted rougly a few hours .The 2nd lasted until sold played daily getting 300+rms both in prefab prefab enclosure.no complants sounded solid no abnormal sounds.

I have experience with 2 in dual ported prefab , setup was broken in over 2weeks.Plays music daily getting 750 wrms still bumping hard after over 1year+.

Pioneer champion series 12(400rms)

under $100( paid $75 each)

placed in dual ported prefab getting 550wrms pair ,bumped daily for months until sold slightly lacked output(guessing due to low power).Overall sounded solid no abnormal sounds no complants or issues.

Hifonics HFi12D4s - Around $60 for a pair.

300WRMS each.

Never experience with these actual models, but I had the HF12D4's (same thing, just from a different year). Had mine on 600-800WRMS, sealed. Played great. Got low.

Lanzar MAX, they sound good in a sealed box. A pair of them 12s handled 1500 watts RMS for a few weeks before they went up in smoke.

Boss CX122D 12" SVC 700w RMS (~75$ pair shipped on amazon)

These speakers are WAY over rated, but never had a problem with them (then again I was using Boss brand amplifiers.)

CX1100M Amplifier (1100 watt Mono) ran these for ~3 months, never went into protect, never had a speaker randomly quit working, no funky smells. (Was running at 2 Ohm, but amp isn't stable at 2ohm, so theres a little stress put on the amp, it would get warm, but never burning hot.)

Boss PH2500(?) (2500 watt Mono) ran these for like 2 weeks, nothing weird happened. (Amp never even got warm, No protect. etc.) this amp is stable at 2 ohm. (either that or I'm assuming so because there wasn't any sort of warm spot on the amp after it'd been pounding for 2 hours at 3/4 tilt one day.)

believe it or not, this is actually very hard for me to answer. one of my fav. new stock purchase @ $100 was a directed studio 10, but the best 3 under 100 are the phoenix gold entry level, kicker comp vr, and pioneer premier/ts. size, and price totally depends on where and when you buy. there are some other brands of the pg and pioneer that share the same manufacturing, and efficiency/characteristics. it also depends on what power range and enclosure/vehicle use. just remember to respect the rms. amps to power these easily can be had cheap, too

Maybe check into the DC line of subs... they seem to be good at having smting for everyone at every power level such as Kicker

oh, yes, i completely forgot about image dynamics. i have seen the power handling to be lower than what the mechanical abilities appear to be. non-the-less, they do perform nicely....

TC2+ motor, good sound, gets low, solid black, doesn't need a lot of power...nuff said. Can't get them anymore, hard to find used.

i was blown away with the sound quality of these subs, put them in a small box under a rear ram seat and they were amazing with 550 rms to each
