Budget DIY tweeter suggestions

do u have any preference as to where u cross ur mids/tweets?
i think there is a better 6.5 in that range but ill have to search. no chance of fitting a 7" huh?
I planned on working out the crossover after install so not really, I can fit 7"s in my mdf spacers just happen to be 6.5 right now but I can always remake them.

these get a lot of love over on DIYMA, but they are a little more, $61 each

these are the ones that are leading the poll on DIYMA for budget tweeter, seas neo. there might be a silk one, not sure

the dayton rs180 7" driver is getting a lot of love, and to be honest unless i hear a better sounding driver at a meet up in 2 months, its what im going to grab. only problem is u have to cross low, which isnt per say a problem. it prevents the mid from beaming.

here are some threads u can look at as well

The silk version of those Seas Neo: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=45_229_324&products_id=1466

I think the aluminum is generally preferred over the silk, but they are both very similar. I have a pair of the silk ones myself. Do NOT fall into the myth that the aluminums will be bright and the silks will not. They will be the same, and I personally don't find Seas Neo to be bright, but that's subjective.

Those Vifa BC25s sound okay but they are very directional. Only use them if you will be pretty on-axis.

yeah i forgot to mention that. they are great in my dash reflecting off the glass or right on axis at my a-pillars but they werent all that when they were low in my doors.

they sound pretty nice but can be a little overbearing at high volume but that could be due to the extra power and fairly low xover point i have them at.
Yes they get loud...I just installed 4 of them with 4 peerless india 6.5's in my caddy . I have 2 in the dash firing off the glass and 1 with each set of 6.5's in the door . I also have about 75 watts on them and have em crossed over at 5000 . I think they sound great . Best tweeters I have had for the money .
