Budget components

I'm going to be looking into installing a new somewhat low budget system in my new ride until my girl goes back to work, then upgrade. I've been reading about some of you guys with the PG RSD series components and I've researched a bit but I just need to make sure there isn't anything better out there for the price. Has to be new, not used.

Also, would a Kicker zx650.4 be too much for a set of RSD's? They are rated quite low for power input.

RSds are known to sound their best with that kind of power!

They can take way over the rated RMS!

Basically they are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif and for that price, dayuuuuuuum! lol

I saw your review and read it but how is it taking the 150 watts? Aren't they rated for 120 peak? I might end up getting the 5 1/4's if that makes a difference.
For 87 bucks get the 6.5's and throw 150w at them. You will not be disappointed.

here is my comment on how they take power(i wrote this in another thread and just pasted it here)....

my amp is capable of 205watts rms at 4ohms per side. i set the gain with a -3db 1khz tone to 150 watts per side.

150 watts at 4 ohms is roughly 24.5 volts, i had my system playing at a pretty loud volume(pretty much the loudest i would try to listen to it at) and the voltage on my DMM was jumping around only in the mid to high teens. for example 15 volts at 4 ohms is only around 60 watts. so i don't think my set will ever see over 100 watts rms per side. will they take a continuous 150 watts over a long period of time..... i kind of doubt it. what i'm trying to say is sure, get a nice big amp and set the gains conservatively and you will be fine.
