budget amps questions

im looking at brands such as:

crunch

hifonics

powerbass

spl

kole

and a couple other brands and with some of the brands using the fuse rating multiplied by 10 the number comes pretty close to the posted watts or above how well does this method work? like for example my alpine mrp-m500 is listed as 500rms at 2ohms and has 2 X 30a fuse's so thats 600rms but alpine is also cea complient so that probably makes a big difference there. its so hard choosing an amp with so many people saying its good and bad etc.

Spend more on an amp then you won't have to wonder how much of a piece of shit it is.

Most good Car audio stuff isn't going to lose a ton of value. Especially if you buy used.... I just bought an amp from a member, and I'm confident it won't lose hardly any value for YEARS.

True That Brother!

I bought my SAZ-3kD slightly used off a member, its going to stay with me for years!

Out of the ones you,ve listed the Powerbass would be the best choice, Jay is trying to get things turned back around over there

Also check up on Audiopipe I've heard the AP15001d and AP30001d do rated power for a fair price.

and the only reason I ever go by the old 10amps =100 watts is just to get a general idea , there are to many other variables to the output of a given amplifier

I like the idea of saving up and buying quality though

that wasnt the question on spending more money on a amp. sure i could save up like 4-500 for a a aq1200 would probably be the cheapest but and i can get it for like just over 400, as i live in canada and i emailed aq and it was like 270 plus taxes and then import fees and then the conversion from cdn to us dollars then its closer to 400. why not just get a budget amp for like 100$ cheaper especially when u change your mind all the time in what you want, and half the people in my city probably havent a clue what aq or sundown is. and i dont like going through the hassle of selling non local.

thanks jay, what about kole? ive never heard of them but i looked at the fues rating and such and they come out pretty dam close to what they have posted for watage
