about how much does the Hifonics brutus BX500 actually put out at 1ohm? If i'm not mistaken they rate their amps at 12.5 volts so im guessing it puts out in the nieghborhood of 600-700 watts at 14.4. It seems like the perfect amp for a ported E12A

You could expect some underrating, i don't know about 700 watts though. You might wanna look into the Nemesis 750d(750 x 1). Can be bought for around same price on eBay.

not even 600 watts? I might spring for a Avionixx 400.2 or a 500m or even a AXT 800.2

I'm not really a big fan of buying stuff on ebay. i would only do it as a last resort and that s if its from a wholesaler with high ranking.

It may be 600 watts.....but on the website it says they are rated at 14.4v

i wouldn't do it... not the 500d not worth the money....

better amps, check out the new phoenix gold line - or check out the 2 channel hifonics ... u're better off w/hte z6000 or the z6400 rather than the 500d

I would rather go class D than get a two channel A/B. Compact car + Compact Alternator = puny *** 70 amp output and it would be a while before i upgrade. And i feel kind of iffy about the Octane R series SQ. the 8.0:1 is rated at 800 watts max at 14.4 volts @ .1 THD @ 1 ohm and 600 watts continuous at the same parameters. Seems like Rockford Fosgate amps without the underrating. I think i will get a Zeus 1000 (its 20 dollars more than the Brutus 1000 and is probally worth it in some form another) and having the gain pretty low with the ported E12A. and like i said maybe a Avionixx amp if ED ever gets back up with me on the current draw of the high current amps.

I'm just woundering could a ported E12A handle it at 1 ohm but i think it can take it if the gains are set low.

UPDATE!!!

I just found out that eD has the package deal with a E12A and a AXT800.2 for $570 back so i'll probally get that if they still have it when i get the money (i don't go back to work until June 10th at the earliest) so since i can get a 800.2 for 275 which is about the price woofersect wants for a brutux BX500 i am definetly(sp) going with this. I wonder why eD sells the 800.2 for 549 but will give you that and a E12A for 21 dollars more? that is one hell of a deal even compared to buying them seperately and getting the 800.2 from woofersect.com for 400 plus i get the benefit of buying the amp from a authorized dealer. (though i'll get the AXA400.2 or AXA 440.4 from unauthorized woofersetc.com anyway)
