Brutus 1600 Question

I have a brutus 1600 and was wondering why it wasn't getting loud. Well I figured out that it I turn the bass up a little on my hu it got loud like I want it. But I know its not good to boost the signal. I have a pioneer deh-p3900mp with 2.2 volt preouts. I hear that the low voltage preouts are bad. So I was wondering if I buy a hu that has like 4 volt preouts will this solve the problem. Thanks

Pioneer decks are quality, for the most part, and should provide enough signal to your amp. If you've upgraded your side speakers, then just turn the deck up to the point where it just begins to distort the side speakers.

Should be 45-50 for most Pioneers. Then depending on which model of Brutus 1600 amp you have, and the impedance load it's seeing, set the gains, according to the stickies for CA.com

If you're running at 1 ohm, or using a 1606/08, you should set the gain for 40V AC on the speaker terminals (with subs disconnected)... with a 60 Hz tone. For higher ohm loads, or the 1610 series, you can run 45V AC without much issue.

From there, use your ears to listen for distortion and tweak gently with the bass boost.

What subs and box are you using?? This may be the real issue... I've seen 500wRMS systems that pound, and 2000w systems that don't... 80% design, 20% product

If it's still not enough, change your ohm load, get a bigger amp, a better box, or a hearing aid.

The subs are rd sonance 12's d4 so its seeing 1 ohm. They are in a 3 cube box tuned to 35. It gets loud just don't really like the fact I have to use the bass boost on the hu to do it. My friend had them hooked to a memphis mojo 2000d in my car and it was really nice. Clean and really loud. Thats what im lookin for. Do you think a saz1500 would do the trick, cuz for some reason I just like those ampa. Thanks for the help btw.

Sundown does make an excellent product, and as a final solution, it'll probably work.

If the internals of your amp are clean, and you've done everything possible to maximize your output... get a new amp. Otherwise, I'd test more.

What kind of Volts AC are you getting at the pre-outs(on a 60 Hz)? If it's

Otherwise, crank up the gain, cause you're input is "low-level". There will be noise, but don't feel bad about setting the gain to 100% if the numbers line up.

You're running 4 12s in a 3 cube box tuned to 35hz? I'd run two inverted if you have the room and see what difference that makes if any.

Im only using one set of speaker terminals cuz the screws on the other set are gone thats how I got it. So if i hook one up backwards it throws the whole thing off lol.

You just have the reverse the wires on the sub that you reverse.. you dont have to change the wires on the amp.
