I have had two jl 12w6v2 in my car for a while now running off a alpine pdx amp. One of them is blown however all the surround, cone, spider is intact and shows no sign of damage. When i press down the come however it is stiff as hell. I contacted fixmyspeaker about it and they said $135 to repair it but they take 10 years to reply. I am here to ask for any kind of advice on this situation. These are some pictures of the blown sub.

does it sound like mine?

I emailed on of JL Audio's distros about it and they said there is no way a JL Audio speaker can be repaired. (BS?)

Someone else said possible damage to voice coil. Have emailed two other JL dealers see what they say.

It's whether or not it's worth it to recone small subs.

For the W7, probably. For lower end stuff, probably not.

Contact @Zeusilicious

He's re-built a few JL w7's and they look good
