Bringing my sound stage "up"?

I have an '05 Chevy crewcab. I'm running an ML-i and a DD-AT28 in each door. All powered by an older MM 100.4. When you "lean" over lower the sound is so "rich" sounding in the footwell area. I wanted to know how I can bring that sound up? Would doing some glass pods in the doors to angle them up? Right now they are in the factory door locations.

Are your speakers in the bottom corner of the door? Where are your tweeters located?

They are towards the lower ottom of the door with the tweeters.

that's got to be the worst place for speakers ever..

build u some custom door panels and place the mids and tweeter up high as possible on axis..

doing an angle spacer for the speakers could help also.. meaning a spacer that is like 1/4" thick at the top but 3/4" or more at the bottom to help aim them up more..?

Yeah, with the new pods I plan on doing in the next week or so I will be angling them in & up to help with that. I also want to try to bring the tweeter out of the doors/pods higher to see if that helps as well.

OP is there any way you could mod out your A pillar to put a tweeter there?

tweets up in the pillars will make a huge difference.

it does but blending cancallayion and imagining still are ideal and it often makes the speakers sound tiny and you have a hard time hearing the midbass/range..

Put your tweeters somewhere high, in a pillars, dash, sails, etc. The cues for locating stage in vertical plane are in upper mid-range and treble frequencies.

Why only 2khz???

U can raise the other freq around it but 2k/2.5k works best for raising the stage typically. Why??? Somethin complicated with physics. Lol

Just like lowering 5khz adds more depth. Lowering 8khz moves ththe stage back.
