I didn't make my subwoofer box heavy enough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I finally got my crossover in and everything hooked up, and its fricking insane!!!!

My system

Behringer T1953 Tube Preamp

Behringer Super-X Pro CX 2310 Crossover

Behringer EP2500 powering a ED e8a sealed at .4 cubes

ART SLA-1 powering 2 Back loaded horns with Fostex FE103E's

This e8a just fricking pounds, its INSANE. I did NOT even come close to making the box heavy enough, the box is 3/4" and it has a RE RE12" sitting in a box on top of it, a Profile HA1000, and a big yellow pages phone book on top of that, and it still dances around the floor. Its fricking INSANE!! I can't beleive this little 8 pounds like this. I havent had much time to play around with it, but this stuff sounds pretty **** good for a dorm room, its insane.

Enough with the tying, on with the pics, don't mind the messy wiring, I havent had time to pretty everything up yet.

Ok, thats enough pics for this thread.

This setup is fricking crazy, especially in a dorm, wow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Mind does something similiar.... To bad I don't have as much displacement as you.... I'm lovin this setup though, I'm sure you are too.

Do you find your behringer kinda noisy as well? I'm seriously contemplating switching out the fan in it for something quieter.

Honestly it is under my tv and I don't even know what the fan sounds like. I don't hear it at all. But I have only been using it for about 5 minutes with sound on all the time. Maybe if I was watching a movie or something and there was some dead silence I might notice. I will let you know if I hear any problems with it.

When my music is on quietly, I hear the fan in it over the 5 fans in my computer. But also, my amp is alot closer to me than yours are so that is probably also a big factor too. But when I get around to doing the mod, I will tell ya what I did so if you ever feel like it, you'll have somewhat of an idea what other people have done.

Its just another thing that adds to the background hum. Needless to say when its cranked you can't hear anything other than the music.... But I normally have my music on pretty quietly so its noticable.

Yeah, deff let me know what you think of the new fan. I doubt I would do anything though since I can't even hear it over normal tv volume. If it were close to me though I my think about it.

I have to say though, I am having a blast over here. This thing pounds like crazy in a terrible 1 cubic foot sealed enclosure with air leaking out of the cracks haha. Not to mention I have the amp set to keep the power down when it senses any distortion. I can't wait for the ported box to arrive.

I would be having fun with mine, but I'm stuck trying to figure out calc. and attempting to study for a chemistry lab exam tommorow. Also thinking about switching majors...again. I'm in architectural engineering right now and I'm contemplating switching to EE.

Now that I've been introduced to pro audio gear, I'm not gonna ever use receivers and plate amps.

You can use the receiver for source only or use internal amps for surround duty

and have your mains be the bully. But I wouldn't buy the more expensive receiver

just to get more power. It would be ultra cool if a Denon type receiver could be

had minus amplication at reduced price, but that market is not driven that way.. boo.

.. and if you want a dedicated preamp processor only, you have buy from the fany

names at high prices, another scam.

Receiver market = scam //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Since I won't be doing anything with surround speakers for a LONG time, I don't have to worry about that. Needless to say I'm pretty darn happy with my pro audio gear. And everyone else around me thinks I'm fricking insane. I just can't wait till this summer when I get the money to start my next project //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
