Bridging 4ch - 2ch and getting stereo

I have a Diamond Audio D3 500.4 and want to know if it is possible for me to achive stereo sound if I bring it from 4ch - 2ch. Do I have to run the RCAs a bit diffrent or something mixing fronts and rears? I just want to power a set of morel dotech ovations.

i'll take a pic of my amp and show you how it is done since i bridged mine, all you will have to do is look at it and it will make it much easier for you. he is talking about a 4 channel amp, he can still acheive stereo sound since it will only be reduced to 2 channels.

I think i understand what I have to do with those Y splitters now. i have a 4ch rca running from my HU and then i need to add it to the y splitters and add that to my amp front input right?

Actually Im curious too. I've bridged my 4 channel to two, wasn't sure whether I needed those Y adaptors to get stereo. Just to confirm, would I plug one pair into my front inputs and one into the rear?

Personally, I'd keep the 4-channel unbridged and run them active, seems a waste to spend $500 on speakers and leave them to passives...especially if you have the amp channels anyway.

But that's just me...

its pretty easy, you just get rca y adapters and take your rca right channel and plug the y adapter to that, and hook that to the amp front left and right rca, then bridge your front channel on the amp to your right channel speakers, then do the same for the other channel. and use the rear output of the amp

usually thats the best situation, unless you have a 3 way front setup, then you would need a 6 channel amp. but there is another advantage to bridge a 4 channel amp to 2. most component sets run 4 ohm, and if you bridge a 4 channel amp to 4 ohm, you get each channel to run in 2 ohm so you have double the output.
