Gain should be set once when you first install it, and then never touch it again. No setting it half way to "break in the sub" or anything else. Set it and forget it.Half gain on the amp, drive around for a week, crank it up, pound away. Better safe than sorry.

Using that same logic, you'd need to "break in" a newly built house's electrical system, you'd need to "break in" your new car's electrical system, you'd need to "break in" your new computer or your new TV or your new Playstation 2, etc etc.I've been braking in my new HU, I have it attached to my comp's PSU, and it's been running straight for 5 hours now at low volume. I was taught just about anything electronic and variable (amps, subs, HUs, normal speakers) need to be broken in.

Which "settings" are we talking about?i figured that the settings for my old subs were about right to take it
easy on these for a week or so... and then i would scale
it up to where it should be... i want to turn it up now
though...
