Break in period

I just got 2 new 12" subs. How long do the cones take to break in? I dont want to over play them to soon, but it's so hard not to bump them hard.

you wont over play them. Just play them as normal.

Just play them like you normally would. No need to designate a specific break in period. They'll break in themselves with normally, regular useage.

"break in" is specifically for the listener and in SPL sub's case to loosen the suspension and burn off the excess glue... you can drop a sub in and wang full tilt no problems in most casses.

if i wanted to use a home receiver for breaking in my sub i just play a testtone and turn it up until it hits xmax???? i dont to clip it but im not sure how
