One way exursion is a lot more complicated than you'd think. The 35mm is a rating given to it, but is not what the driver is physically capable of before damage. As for the XCON, I really don't like the motor structure for some reason... I could also buy a Z4 12" for $397 shipped from Sundown (reconed with guarantee). For the Setup in my car, I feel like excursion is a greater need than cone area. Its complicated... I was just wondering if any other 10" sub had more excursion.
If cone area is your main concern, I could get a PSI upgraded recone for it. The Z4 motor is great and would still allow more travel.

4. Sundown, way overhyped for what you really get and how much it really cost, stupid gimmick surrounds that don't do anything special only lose cone area. Tied with JL for the most gullible fanboys.

sq/dd subs are one in the same...some different parts, prob the same build house....

jl makes great subs (w7/w6)

mtx makes great subs(9500)

alpine type x is pretty good.

fosgate is junk

sundown is overrated

focal is one of the best sq companies

morel is one of the best sq companies

i prefer to choke people hollywood style..face to face, thumbs on the throat, slowly taking the air away from someone...its way more personal seeing them beg for their life through their eyes.....you get way more satisfaction when they black out and do not move...then pound their face in with a brick or river rock...thats intense...try it sometime..

I'm not saying they're bad subs.

I love my saz1500v3, didnt pay full price for it. Love my rf t2 12s, the black ones, didnt pay full price. My re se 10d4s, 12 spoke version, also didnt pay full price. I have been at this for awhile, I remember when you paid upwards of 1 or 2 bucks a watt. I started back when I joined this site, was on top of the world with my apsm amps, until I lucked up on my sundown, for 340 shipped. You do get what you pay for, but every now and then, you stumble upon a nice deal. The saz is by far the best amp I have ever used. I cant wait until I get it on these t2s, see what it will bump like.

Take a few minutes to look at the titles on termpro over the last 10 years.

im not throwing dirt on dd as they are great but to get anything worth mentioning you are looking at 9500 series or better. for the price of the 3500 you are in zv4/nightshade price range. im not doubting dd potential as i have ran them before i just dont think you are getting your monies worth until you are chasing numbers with a fart box trying to get that very last .1 of a db

I think that DD and Sundown are both overhyped. That's what happens when you make great products and build a gigantic fanbase! Brand loyalty is a major thing in this industry. Fans will argue for hours that their brand is the best (for one reason or another). This thread proves it, and is great free advertising for these big name companies. I've heard both, and both sound great.

GM products in general. We have 2 Silverado's and an 86 Pontiac Fiero. The Fiero was my first car, and I still love it to death (probably won't ever get rid of it)! Fun as hell to drive
