ic...i will try that. reminds me, when i first got that used box n i try to stand it in verticle position, the box made a squeakin sound.hopefully its the stupid box thats causing the rattle.

Ok time to use the old common sense gene.

1.) play the speaker free air on a clean signal. Check for any mechanical noise.

2.) check the box for leaks. Put it in a dark room and put a bright flash light in it. Look for light along the seams. Or use a vacuum in reverse to feel for air leaks.

After that you should know what the cause is...

Oh and you will get no warranty buying from the DT district of Smell A. It's like a giant TJ swapmeet.

i got it at downtown los angeles audio district....they told me i can only go through alpine to get warranty. ****!! this sux big time.

OMG. You sooooo got the shaft! Watch out & make sure that nothing is down in the vent also. Were the subs BRAND NEW?

^yea....i pretty much wasted near 700 for that perfect setup i was looking for. i first got 1042 with mono amp for around 350 and it wasnt enough bass for me. so i go out there n get 2 1022 n now one is a ****ed up sub. im stuck with bunch of audio parts. i shouldve went with different shit from the beginning... *sigh*

2 alpine type r 1022 in sealed enclosure(one is that defect pos) make reasonable offer... since i paid over $250 for 2 subs n the box. im not sure how much it would cost to repair one sub, but make some offers!

What store in LA did you get them from. You have to remember when you buy from LA, most of those guys are not dealers so there is no warranty. And if you give it to them for warranty, good luck, it will just sit there until you get pissed off and want it back by then it will be in worse shape than when you first gave it back.

i had this problem on the older alpine r's but i got my from a dealer so i wasn't completely screwed.just so you know you cant fix alpines gonna have to.

Thais can also be caused by a improper box size. Sure you have a big enough box?
