i'm starting a box in an extended cab chevy. the bottom will be fiberglass, w/ the top sides and front being wood. it will house 2 re 8's, ported around 30-35hz. if i have enough room i'm gonna sink the amp into the top. so far all i have is 2 layers of glass on the floor...

You will add more layers on floor right? Because 2 layers isn't enough IMHO.

ya, probably 2 more layers on the floor. i drilled 2 holes in it today...where the jack is there is 2 holes through to the bottom of the truck. i'm glassing 2 bolts through the bottom so when i'm done you can bolt it in from under the truck. ya i'll update it every day i have pics. i didn't do anything today but drill 2 holes. i was working on my doors today. this isn't my first glass job

the sub chambers ended up being smaller than i wanted, cause the stupid hump was off-centered and i wanted them to be the same size for each sub

Moar, looking good so far.

Something I tried, and it seemed to come out good (structure wise)...instead of duraglass to seal, I stuffed some fiberglass that I pulled apart from matt, and soaked it with resin to fill in the cracks between the mdf and glass. If you soak it good enough it seals well and is strong.

i got liquid nails to seal/hold the wood down. then i duraglassed over everything. its pretty strong.
