box tuning question

how do i determine how big the box needs to be for a subwoofer. i understand tuning it but whats the difference if your putting a sub in a small ported box compared to a large ported box both tuned to the same hz.

Low frequency extension, upper frequency extension, boost around tuning, transient response, and group delay are all affected by the size of enclosure you choose for your sub.
