can someone explain to me how to tune a ported box. maybe clarify something for me, by tuning, u calculate what the correct Hz (frequency) the box will play at (according to internal volume and port volume),

then u set your amp to that number?

then, can someone direct me to the proper thread that tells you how to calculate a box's tuning frequency?

Play with the calculators on this site, the port calculator is designed for round ports but you can do the conversion from a slot port to a round. Round is 3.14 x's radius squared. And the area for a slot port is length X's width.

so

slot port that is 10 by 2 = 20 inches or port area or a round port that is roughly 5.05 diameter round port.
