Box Stuffing

Hello. I am having a box built for two 12 woofers. The required airspace for these woofers are 1.5 cu ft. per. (idmax 12). However, I would like to safe some trunk space. It is to my understanding, that a smaller box with stuffing will cause the woofers to perform as if they where in the required box. My question is how small a box and how much stuffing would be needed to make this work. I am looking at 1.2 cu with a pound of stuffing per chamber. Will that work? Any help would be appreciated. 1.1 is the lowest rec box for this sub and depending on your car it might work better. 1.2 with 1 pound of polyfill wound beperfect IMO

thank you for the responce. i think i'll go with a box 1.3 with a pound per chamber.
