Box Specs

I am building a sealed box for a Boston G510 subwoofer, run at 2ohms with a 500 watt amp. I need to build an angled box to fit behind my truck seat, and am wondering if it is possible to calculate the depth by taking the average depth measurement. Also, boston specs a 14.2 cubic liter box (0.5 cubic feet), but I entered the Thiele-Small parameters in the AJ sealed designer 2.0 program and it spec'd a 24.44 cubic liter box. How do I determine what size box to build? My max measurements are 4.25" deep at the top, 10" deep at the bottom, 20" wide, and 14.25" tall. Thanks.

Yeah those measurements are the internal specs. So the box will act the same even though the depth is not constant, as long as the average is correct? I'm still trying to figure out if I should use the specs from Boston or from the calculator. I am looking for tight bass and SQ, not really SPL or deep bass. Boston specs a 11"x11"x7" box, which seems reall small for a 10" sub with an 8" magnet and 6 3/4" mounting depth. Also, if I build a bigger box and fill the edges of it with expanding foam, will that make the bass muddy at all?

You can try a downfiring box. Cause the box with the slant won't be deep enough for the sub. If you downfire you won't have a problem with mounting-depth. If you do these internal-dimensions 10.5" width, 12" height, 4.25" top-depth, and 10" bottom depth you'll have 0.519CuFt before displacement. Crutchfeild also recommends .5CuFt. Do you know the speaker's displacement?

How would downfiring help it fit in a shallow box? It still has to go inside there the same way. If you mean invert it that would take up even more room. It has to fit behind the seat, it can't go underneath. I don't know the specs of the sub but the magnet diameter is 8" and the mounting depth is 6 3/4". It will fit in the box I planned, it just has to mount near the very bottom. I'm still trying to figure out if building a larger box (around 1 cubic foot) would make the bass looser or muddy. Thanks.
