box specs help

tryin to build a box for an hdc3 18 aluminum coil and was wondering what box size and tuning yall have had good luck with. My goal in this is to wall off the back of my little malibu maxx with this one sub. but of course I do not intend on havin to use ALL of the hatch space

from what I've read it seems like alot of people are goin around 6 cubes tuned to 32ish. Does that sound reasonable?

never had an hdc but i think you read wrong. Most people tune the sdc2.5 to 32. The hdc3's like 38-40hz.

Also, why would you do a wall with one 18, regardless of the car size....

... why not? It's like he'll be doing a " Blow through "... ( except he has a hatchback... ) * I don't see anything wrong - He could be tryin' to keep some of his hatch area ( as he stated up there ) *

... But - I don't have experience withe hdc3s - I've seen 35hz - 40hz tuning around Caraudio.com & ecoustics.com on them...

On an 18... Personally - I'd tune it to 28hz or 29hz... and feel the rumble!

aight then.

just tune it to 35hz.

6.5-7ft^3 at 33-35hz is what I'd do.
