Box Recomendations

Greetings,

I am a newbie, who is looking for info about a box build. I seek a different type of application than what I normally read about here, so any help would be appreciated.

I am installing a sq system in my boat. It is a large boat with no space limitations.( My cabin is 35' x 12') I have an Arc 15 d4, powered by an Arc 500 xplr. The factory recomments a 2.25 cu. sealed box for sq apps. My big question is when calculating dimensions for the box, am I supposed to add the displacement of the sub to the recommended volume to achieve a net value of 2.25 cu. Factory lists the displacement as .17. I am under the immpression that I should be looking to create a box that is 2.42 cu. hence giving it 2.25 cu free volume to operate in. Any suggestion or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...Gianni
