box question for L7

how do you think this sub in this box will perform? is this box too small? would it be safe to run a 1000.1 amp to it?

i recently went to a local car audio shop and they quoted me $170 to build me a sealed enclosure for a L7, and $230 for a ported enclosure.

anything else im open to ideas, thanks

I think the L7's are like 750 rms each but I know that people throw alot more at them and they take it very well.

if I were you though, I'd go with a nice big ported enclosure (if space is there) and let that thing wang. if you made the ported enclosure yourself it wouldnt cost nearly 230$ maybe 70$ total + 10-15$ for box plans and cut sheet.

hey jtmosic, where can i get the plans? also, for one 12" L7, how many watts do you think i can throw at it? any amp suggestions?

take ur plans to lowes/home depot get them to cut ur wood,

ehh...if you have a table/circular saw, have them cut the sheet into 1/3s or 1/4s. unless you tip them, they often dont make the most precise cuts.

pm ngsm13 on here.. or ngbd13 on aim..he will hook u up with good plans for it.. i think u might be able to get away with 1000watts....no more than that though.
