Box Problem!!! Agh!!!!!

Ok, as many of you know ,my box is massive and I had second thoughts on my glue usage. Well, my box is coming undone. In the pic below, the box is coming done on the right lower corner where the port is and the edge of the box is. It flexes about a quarter to 3/8". The part that is unattatched is about 6-9 inches long and I can pull it back and forth fairly easily. Is my box f-ed pretty bad? I was thinking about pulling the wood back, putting some glue in the bare wood part, clamping it, and putting a couple drywall screws in there, how would that hold up?

clean up that liscense plate...you dont want people seeing that.

youre gonna have a hell of a time with this btw.

add panels on the inside, and screw through the outside of the box to the inside new panels, add some **** pracing and tons of freakin glue.

it's in my port "tube", I can't add panels on the inside. I added a bunch of glue in the crevice and corner and put 7 screws in and put a clamp on it and will let it sit for 48 hours before I bump again.

SO, you have this monster box, glue only to hold it together? Is it braced on the inside anywhere? If not it needs to be. Is the box mounted down or just sort of in there using gravity to stay in place. Gravity and a car accident don't exactly get alone too well. A loose box is also a quieter box as you are losing energy in the form of sound to the box dancing around like a Claminco dancer. Take some fibreglass and reinforce all the inside seams of that box. 2 layers at least and have it cover at least 4" of each face so that it has something to adhere to.

This i HIGHLY Recommend.

I did it on the wall, and have NO issues whatsoever with panels coming apart.....

then again, i used screws everywhere, as well as wood glue/sawdust combo.

Ok, i put some wood glue on there last night, 7 screws, and clamped it for 20 hours. I turned my line driver down half, put my gain up to half on my amp instead of 0, and now I can't throw it into protect and shit gets insanely loud. My box hasn't started falling apart yet, but my rear view mirror is permanently off. My box is sitting by gravity, my trunk has a metal bed obviously, how should I secure it down? I lined both sides of the port with titebond 2 (corners) with 2 layers as well and is rock hard, no cracking at all. I hope I fixed all my issues, now I just need to secure my box down.

HHHmmm remember that one time I talked to you on aim? What was it that I told you to do first off before worrying about charging batteries and shit? Oh yeah, turn the line driver and set the gain correctly.

Next, you have a 300 pound missile behind your head. Even in a seemingly minor collision, good luck dodging that big bastich. Get it secured down and not with backstraps. You need to bolt it down using aluminum mounts and bolts through the mdf and through the sheet metal of the vehicle. Your seams are going to fail again, get them fibreglassed before you do any more damage and have to build an entire new box.

yo, all these indiana people, we need to have a dam show.

or get together at least..

BTW my box just came apart as well, only thing is i had screws, caulk, and gorrila glue to hold it together and basiclly my port came off, so i took it off and now the panel just rattles to hell.

But the carpet should be like something extra to hold it together.
