box position in a trunk car.

search....this topic has been covered a billion times. ultimately, u will have to see what works well in your application. Generally subs fired rearward towards tail lights would yield best response but if you fire towards the cabin, you should make sure everything is properly sealed off from the trunk. If you dont, then that way sux also. but do a seach

i got the most of my setup with subs firing towards the fold down seats large slot port on drivers side facing same direction and the box pushed all the way back to the lid //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Did lots of testing with my neon and this was the best/loudest way.

is this the guy with a bag of coke on his gas tank.

For me the best would be sub back ports back, but overall in a ported box the difference in changes werent night and day (from sub back ports back, up, forward, closer to cabin, closer to tail, in a sealed box though you can really tell what works. In one of those tcab vids this guy hit a pretty good number with subs up ports back, but his seats were down so whatever, my car has the seats bolted.

dood. seriously. put a box in your trunk, play it in different positions, and see what you like best.
and make no more threads.
yeah but im in the process of builing one and i want to know what would be best fro my car. i got a huge trunk so i dont know what to do. anybody have experience with the subs facing up in a tunk car?

I have a stratus with single 12" L7 Kicker and it has always sounded best pointing toward the rear just about 3 inches from the rear wall. I would like to run 2 15"s pointing in the car right behind the rear seat but im afraid it would sound like ***.

The worst position for me was with the sub and port up, had more flex but less output.
Cancellation>you...

Unless you have some way of sealing the subs so they fire into the cabin, the next best alternative is subs firing toward the trunk. Port placement depends on your particular vehicle. In mine, it was firing straight out. I would also recommend you deaden the shit out of your trunk lid and walls...

Subs back and port back worked best for me. Although all my boxes have been just been designs MOE has posted. My next box will have the port firing drivers side and sub firing towards the rear.
