Box/Port Orientation

I drive a '94 Subaru Legacy, and when I really want to let the bass rip I just fold down the seats, where I have the sub and port pointing into the car.

My question is, is there a more efficient orientation for me to point the sub/port for more bass, with or without the seat folded down? I see some people pointing the sub up and the ports pointing to the back, and other various set-ups. I guess I'm just sad that i see everyone else's roofs flexing, while mine just sits there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Sub up Port back is mostly for SUV's and Hatchbacks from my knowledge.

But, when I get the munnies, I'm getting a 12" Fi Q, ported and sub back.

You should turn your box arround and see if the output is increased.

I'll try that, too bad it's too tall to try pointing up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I wonder what the explanation is for the increased volume when the sub is pointing to the back.

i too have pondered this question. ive entertained what might happen with port up, sub back in my trunk car assuming i remove my rear speakers.
