the lil square up front will be some sort of window, either a square or a logo of some kind, the box will have interior lighting (2 12" cold cathode PC case lights) for that extra lil sumthing

looks nice, u know any links on how to add window?
i dont have any links but i have an idea on how to make it work

the window will have two peices of plexiglass one inside, one outside, flush with the wood

i'm thinkin 2 peices of plexi 1/4in thick, so it would be 1/4 of plexi 1/4 of wood, and 1/4 of plexi

wiht a sealent between then and screws for extra grip

So your going two pieces of 1/4" plexi with a 1/4" air gap in between. Not a good idea. It's not going to last very long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I still say a 1/4" two pieces or one, isn't strong enough for the intended application //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There is a big strength difference between one piece 1/2" thick as opposed to the two 1/4" thick pieces you posted above. I would still go 3/4" just to be safe. But as always brother man that just MHO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and i spect that, but for the look i want if i go 3/4 i would need to put anthoer sheet of MDF up front BUT then it woudln't fit in the car nemore

we will get it done where it works, and is not going to break. i dont want that. im trying to get a good rep with box building so i dont want my prducts to be shoddy work. also, its not a square its a design, smaller than that window. so strength will be added there as well.
