box painting

yah, been talking to a friend who knows more about it than I do, said it would be a lot easier just to go ahead and take them out.

then primer, sand , primer again, paint then clear coat.

another question, I am thinking about using the walmart version of the spray on bedliner stuff for the box, anyone ever used it? any good? how easy is it compared to regular spray paint?

it is easy stuff!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok, one last question for everyone that sees this post....

EVERYONE paints their boxes black, so I am thinking of going with another color altogether, maybe something metallic, maybe not.....anyways....how about some color suggestions......and anyone that says PINK is a ***.

truckbed liner will give it texture will it not? but if that's what you're looking for why sand it out?

if you want something pretty slick looking, go to a body shop or paint shop and ask them to mix you up a quart of some paint with some color flop in it. kind of like pearl but much more drastic and better looking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/imo.gif.3a57bcc70a4835dc53e86ffae1a0b041.gif a quart should be more than enough unless you have a really big box.

and it goes in this order if you expect your paint to stick...

sand wood, prime(2-3 coats), sand higher grit than first, prime again, sand even higher grit, paint, clear, done.

and you really could just tape it off if you wanted. at my job we've taped off 60'' plasma tvs before we painted stuff without taking them out, but what do i know i'm just a painter.
