I have two Kicker 15" L7 s in a 5 cubic foot sealed box. I would like to port it, but i have not made many ported boxes and i dont want to screw it up. looking for the best sound. The way i made the box is square with the face plate angled back. the subs face forward and the sides are up against my wheel wells.

If i port it were would be the best place for the ports? Rear? Top?

If i port the box should the box be bigger/smaller then 5cft?

anyone else rollin with 2 15'' L7s, what size box? ported/sealed?

Box would need to be bigger, probably around 7 cubes net and then volume for the port. 2 15s in 7 cubes would need around 155 square inches of port. Port length determines the tuning, and tuning will impact how it sounds. Since you want it to sound good, I would go with tuining around 35 hertz. Sub and port placement depends on the vehicle. I'll assume it's an SUV, which generally works well with having the susb up and the port to the rear.

I made the box at 6.6 cubes. here are the dimensions

35.5W x 15.5H x 25d I had two square ports along the bottom facing forward. each port was 16.5W x 2.5H x 19.5. The two subs were along the rear facing upward.

It is a good box, made a big difference in sound. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But sadly a week or two after i made it my amp burnt up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

I just ordered a new amp, it should be here Monday. Im putting my MA Audio EHO154 back in and running a HK802SX amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif should be good. Just planned out the new ported box for the EHO.

I have the deminisions and original plans if anyone would like them. Sounds great. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

what kind of vehicle do you drive, cause i have 2 15" L7s in an impala and im going subs facing back and im porting through the rear deck, and im about 7-8 cubes and im using (4) 4" aero ports about 17-18" long each, what kind of power are you throwing at em?

Im driving a Monte Carlo. Your trunk must have a bigger opening then mine, cause i had to remove the trunk latch, seal and it barely fit. I had a Crunch PZI3000.1d pushing them, but it burnt up. Im putting the MA Audio 15" back in with the MA Audio HK802SX.
