Box opinions for a jlw7 8" behind the seat of a crew cab truck

Got a friend who has this sub. He wants a box to go behind the seat of his crew cab truck. Removing the rear seat is not an option due to he has kids and I dont think a box for this sub would require that much space anyways. Would sealed give decent output? Or should I he just go with the 1@34hz ported box? Also which way should the port/sub face for best results?

If the 1@34hz is recommended would the aero prt be ok? What size and how long sould the port be? I know its alot of questions but thanks helping.

that thing has a mounting depth of ~7", don't think he's going to be getting that in that truck behind anything. he should probably sell it and go with 2 AQ 8s, DC 8s, or Sundown E8s instead. my brother has an f-250 and his mounting depth is only 6", h was considering re-bolting the rear seats and raising them a few inches so he can do a box under the seat. needless to say we went with a sub that has a more shallow mounting depth.

he has more room than you would think. I put the sub in the back just to see how it would do and took into account of .75" on both side and I really think it will work. He is set on using this sub. Like I said, its a crew cab, and got like 10" from the rear of the seat to the back wall and about 10" high will be safe. As far as length,that shouldnt be a problem at all.

I have a JL w7 in a 2007 NBS GMC SIERRA crew cab, it's under my seat sub fires forward. Did a two inch seat raise on my seats and seat belts that gave it more than enough room. I did have to port it a tad bit higher tho cuz of the box shape.

What kind of crew cab truck?

There was no way that w7 would have fit behind the seats in my f-150 but I could fit a few behind the back seat of my Ram.
