box mounted amp

im gonna put a Fi SSD 12 in a 2 cubic feet in the back of my dodge ram, and was wondering if just mounting the amp to the box is safe? the amp is a hifonics 1208d. the box is pretty solid and made of 3/4 mdf. thanks.

Not the best place to put it since the screws will go through to the sealed or ported box, but if you have no where else to put it......secure the box down as well.

As long as your enclosure is built solid with no flex, there are no issues with mounting your amplifier to it.

alright cool. the box is sturdy and made of 3/4 mdf and only like 700 watts so i doubt there's gonna be much flex.

I have my 1750.1 mounted to my box with 2 10's. It's fine there.

i think it should be fine...bigger amps with long boards are known to act up if mounted to enclousures..due to vibration

just put washers between the screws and amp...

^^^ what would the washers accomplish? still would transfer the vibrations

i used 3/8" rubber mat between my "amp rack" and box for my 2500d w/ no problems

If your box is solid it's not a problem except the vibration with more powerful setups, I usually put small wire grommets in between the amp and box when mounting to the box...

ill go get some little foam pieces and cut them into little squares and put them in between the mounting tabs on the amp and the box.
