BOX is EVERYTHING!

well I have been battling with my 2 Infinity Perfect 12" not hitting whatsover in a newly designed custom sealed box made by my install guy. It was 1.2cu total, which I thought was the problem hopefully(too small). I had it made that small because I wanted to save trunk space. They sounded weak and horrible. They had 800 watts RMS going into them which was more than suffecient. So I decided to put my old box back in just to see. Its a 3.4cu ported box that hogs the trunk. OH MY GOD! Night and day. They hit and sound so much better its not even funny! Its amazing how important the enclosure is. anyone else have similar experiences??

i knew how important the box was already just from car audio 101, but never had that personal experience I just had.

and why the $%# does half of the people on here have to give some stupid smart *** comment to every friggin post. I'm realizing half of the people on here have still not had their wet dream. thanks to all the serious posters who have replied to my topics and given me great info.

ya i had my CVRs in a shitty prefab and they did not hit it all. switched to ported and its NIGHT and DAY.

I agree. Box/installation is 80 percent of how well a system sounds.

But yes, the install+enclosure is a huge part of the outcome. And looking at the difference in the two boxes, the second one should be leaps and bounds better, OP. The second one was a much better choice. What is it tuned to?
