Box for two RE 12's

i need some recommendations for a size and tune for two re 12's powered by mtx 1500w amp... looking for some nice sq and some good punching bass with pretty good lows... what ya think? im not looking for a box just made to hit all the lows im looking for a all around good sounding size box.. ill grab the plans off moe lesters but i just need to figure on the best size and tune for these bad boys.. the box will be going into a hatch...

Probox rocks enclosures are tuned @ 50hz....

... And they have an all around good sound. BUT! RE, JL, MMATS just don't like them... So 50hz is out of the question.

I would say 38hz - 44hz would put you in the middle range, all around sound.

What are your max dimensions?

I built my homeboy a 40"W x 17.5"D x 14"H - Tuned @ 40hz ... Sounded pretty **** good.

... That's what he wanted... I suggested something else, but anyway!

* Note: I know what fits in the front of the trunk

... Give me the exact measurements for the rear of the trunk ( from the rear seats to the wheel wells - before they flare out )

dont want it any bigger then 36" wide and 15" tall

both subs and amp have been hibernating for over a year lol

4 cu.ft. common chamber box tuned to 33-35Hz would get low fasho on those. Just make sure there's plenty of port area

Dude I always see you reccomending high tuned boxes. This guy is looking for a GOOD sounding box. Which means 38hz-44hz is not GOOD sounding unless he happens to have a DD or AQ sub. And there is no way in hell a box tuned at 50hz has all the way around good sound.

Sounds like a sealed box will fit him perfect. Even if he didn't want sealed, 34hz and lower would be ideal for what he described. I would 32 or 31 would be the sweet spot ported with SXs. But again I think the sound he wants is in a sealed box.

I'm currently using a 5.67cuft - internal - tuned @ 32hz enclosure.....

... And my previous enclosure was 3.3 - internal - tuned @ 44hz.... I know the difference, and I hear the difference.

My 32herter kills on lows & highs just get ignorant...

... I said 38 to 44 because:

1) " I don't want a box that's just gonna hit the lows " - 32hz = LOWS ALL DAY

2) " I want all around sound SQ... blah blah blah " - 38hz( lowest ) 44hz(highest) = Best all around sound... * Note: especially since it's goin' in that Probe....

probox's sound GREAT... and they are tuned @ 50hz... * Why don't you buy one, and try for yourself.... NOTE: don't buy the cheap one either... Cause they ain't $hit *

Personally I don't think 32hz gets the lows well enough, but yet again I play some songs with stupid low notes.

And I would never buy a box. Nor would I waiste my time building one tuned to 50hz.
