Box for Two Avalanches

heh.
I am designing a box for two avalanche drivers that I would like to submit for approval.

I'm going for 7-7.5 cubes net for the pair and will be firing upwards.

The port will be 37.5"wide and 1.625" tall, and somewhere around 40" long.

The port has four bends in it. The port side veiw is like so:

The port opening will be situated near the very front of the trunk.

The subwoofers will be firing upwards toward the trunk lid, and about 4" off the back of the trunk.

Will I have any problems with port resonance?

Will I have any problems with cancellation?

Thank you.

Brian

Yeah...REALLY bad idea on the port...in ALL ways. The dimensions and the mix-match of different types of bends...

Oh, and good to know the secret message in your port...did you guys write it in there during the circle jerk?!?!? Or was that during the reach-around????

Apparently there's a hidden message inside Mr. Brian's port or something...one of the, more than likely, many homosexual things done on Brian's sleepover party for a few days at REQ's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The port HAS to be huge and HAS to still leave room for two Avalanches. The original plan was to mount them firing up with ~11 inches of clearance on both sides of the baffle, so i could invert, or not, depending on how i felt about the situation. Therefore the port had to be crammed into the trunk near the front.

meh

What I mean with the ratios....

lets say you needed to have a port area of 144", and you make the port 10"x14". That is good because 10:14 is 1:1.4, which is less than 1:8. If you made the port 4x36, it would be a 1:9 ration (which may sound ok, but is pushing it), it would throttle the sound waves and begin to create noise from the port.

Basically, the ratio is there so you it is known not to make a port to narrow that it will bring unwanted noise into the system.

Cool, thanks for the help.
