box for tc9 based 12?

ok, i know i already have a box thread, however, those were for my previous 2 15's that ive come to the conclusion i dont have the room to do what i want to do..

however, im getting a custom 12 with a tc9 motor.. the thing looks incredibly beefy, and im gonna build a MEAN box for it..

However i have a few base questions..

Is 48sq inches of port too much for a 2.25 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hz? That gives me a 46 inch port length, which i do have the room for, which means my port will be 4x12x46, will that be an issue if im feeding the sub ~1000 watts rms? Also, if the sub can take more, and i want it to be more efficient on that 1000 watts, should i make the box slightly bigger?

Thanks in advanced!

Ryan

Whos making what, the box? or the sub? Its a guy in missouri that ive been talking back in forth.. he said it takes about 1000rms and from the looks of it it does.. im actually going over there saturday to pick it up.. ill put some pictures up here, but kinda irrelevant to the post;)

Changed it to 2.5 cubes with 45.5 sq inches of port tuned to ~32 hz.. these sound about right? or should less or more port area be used.. sq is nice, but SPL is better..

Port= 3.5x13x41 = 1865^3in or 1.07^3ft

Box= 2.5 NET= 3.57+ .12(sub) +.1(bracing) GROSS = 3.79^3ft = 6549.12^3in gross internal volume

External dimensions= 38.5x14.5x15.5

Internal dimensions= 37x13x14

Boards= 38.5x15.5 (2- Top and Bottom)

38.5x13 (1- Back board)

34.25x13 (1- Front Board)

14x13 (1- Right Board)

14.75x13 (1- Left Board *port side)

10.5x13 (1- Port board number 1 *11.25 total length= 29.75 left)

29x13 (1- Port board number 2 *total 41 inches of port length with 5.25 inches remaining till side wall)

Just tryin to figure out if the port area is going to F**K up my sub on notes lower than 30hz or not before i build the box tomorrow. I think thats 18.5in^2 per ft^3? will that be alright for a decent peak around 34hz as well as get the lows pretty decent? (box is ending up tuned to 34hz on the nose pretty much)

I think its at 3.5 at the moment, will 3" give it maximum output while still kinda maintaining control? I dont want it to sound like ***, but id much rather have it be loud at the moment than crystal clear
