i believe he means he hasnt seen a drawing of the box design since he was 14 because he always uses computer programs now, but i may be completely wrong
the drawing looks fine to me. looks like you put alot of thought into it and it should come out great.
okay thanks. yeah, i don't have access to AutoCAD or Inventor right now, and i just did a quick sketch at like midnight last night so I know it wasn't the best drawing.
I would love to get back to using autocad again, but i don't want to pay for it lol
Not to nit pick but your dimension line marked 17.75" on the right side of the drawing is not going to the right extension line. Depending on how you plan on finishing the box, I wold shorten the right end panel and make the back panel run the entire length of the enclosure. Change to the design would be make the back panel the full 35" and the right side panel 16.25". Or for the sake of making the panels a bit quicker to cut, keep the right side panel @ 17" and shorten the speaker baffle to 29.25". Making sure that the left and right panels are cut with the same fence setting on the table saw reduces the likelihood of the box ending up out of square.
on the right side i have 2 dimensions. one is for the right side panel and the other shows the entire side length, including the 3/4" MDF for the front baffle.
the overall depth of the box is 17.75". the front baffle is attached in front of the right side panel, which shortens the side panel to 17"
but you are right, just noticed i did dimension to the wrong extension line.....i would never do that on a better drawing, i did that sketch quickly and late at night lol
just an update....build day is today. we went out this morning and picked up some MDF and a couple other things we need. My buddy is at the dentist, so once he gets back we will finish picking up all the stuff we need and get to work on building. I'll post pictures as we work
