Ok i built a box a couple weeks ago for my DD 9515d. I used the RE box calc so i hope it turned out as it was supposed to. All i know is that its pretty loud already. I just wanted to double check that it turned out the volume and tuning came out right. Im also wondering if it is too big for this sub? I was told these subs need about 4.5 cubes per sub so that is what i built it around. Im only using one right now.
The specs are:
BOX
36 wide
16 high
21 deep
PORT
5 wide
14.5 high
14.5 deep
Without the sub displacement the re calc said its about 4.6 cubes and tuned to 37. So i assume the sub took a small amount of space and tuned it slightly higher. Not a big deal i guess. But later on i had some guys say that the box is too big for this sub, but would be fine on lower power, like 1500rms or so. They said id want to make the box smaller if i were to throw more power at it, like 2k and up i guess. Eventually i want to throw the second sub in and power them up with ATLEAST 1.5k per sub, if i cant get atleast 2k for each.
So i am just looking for some input on the box size, tuning etc. Want to make sure the box isnt too big.
