just bought 3 old school MTX 5000 12"subs. svc 12ohm.

have a partsexpress plate amp. think it puts out like 275 watts at 4 ohm. i know its probably not enough power.....

1 new sheet of 3/4" MDF..

have plenty of space in living room, and average woodworking skills. im guessing tune this box low 30hz or less. it will probably be a mix of about 60/40 music to tv. ive used moe's plans before and it turned out great, but i didnt see nothin that would work for 3 12's.... help me out fellas

try 20hz or less

you stated that youre looking for the avility to play music and play movies, from the same system.

a good frequency coverage for music is 25Hz~80Hz, for movies you want a strong precens of 25Hz and below, "the bass you can feel".

if you tune the enclosure really low to get the really low bass for movies, youll loose part of the bass that youll hear mostly with music. if you tune it for music then youll loose the very low end bass, that its heard mostly in movies.

so finding that sweet spot that will get you the most frequency coverage is the tricky part.

anyone have any plans that would work for me? i have the subs here and am off the next couple days.. if i can fit some box building time into all the college ball goin on.....thanks

maybe build 1 huge box with 2 chambers or something. one chamber you put 2 subs in. tune it for those lows for the movies, but then put the other sub in the other chamber and tune it for the music, so youll kinda get the best of both worlds. would that work?
