Well today was a good day for me... I sold over $700 in car audio.... So this means my new project is on!!! I already bought 2 Hifonics 1605D's and i have been planning on doing a Set up with some type R's.... I am starting with 2 12" Dual 4's... I later plan to add 2 more but not right yet.. My question is what do you think a Type R sounds louder in Ported or sealed? And does anyone have a good box plan for them? any help would be great thanks!!

Lance

^^^^ thats right 2 12" type r are happier in an enclosure over 5cubes ~ 6cubs and in the low 30Hz with some where around 70~90sqin of port area depending on the box size and power.

i have done a couple builds with the R in those sizes and smaller but for the ultimate low end those size are the best if you go below 5cubes your low end will start to diminish but not by much and your mid bass will strengthen up like no other.

type r is just a nice overall sub that plays well in all sort of enclosure sizes and tuning as long as the subwoofer parameters and what kind off vehicle is going are taken into consideration.

It will be going in a 1990 Ford Bronco II. I have all sorts of room so i guess i will go with the 5~6 cubes but is that a peice or 5~6 each??? Please let me know

yes it does. but make sure it fits in your car before you build it. i have seen plenty of guys on this forum build the enclosures from some of them plans and have to start over because the enclosure didnt fit trough the trunk opening or in the trunk it self. lol

good luck and keep us updated

i did mine in 4.3 cubes total so it was a little over 2 cubes per sub....it sounds nice wish i woulda tuned it a little lower thought but its good....for SPL go like 37 for lows go 30 i would say
