Box for 2 RF 8" Punch HX2's???

Well, I finally picked and purchased an amp, so now onto the box...

I bought a pair of Punch HX2 8's on Craiglist for $20, one had the surround separating from the cone, one bottle of rubberized CA later, good as new //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Just payed for a Sundown SAE-1200D, should be on its way...

Have been looking at specs..... RF suggests .1-.75/sub ported with .625@40 for optimal. I have read they like a little more space with a lower tuning....

I am thinking 2cubes@34ish for both......

Any suggestions, opinions, stories???

Cant help much on the box, but how much did you play them and how much power after you glued them? If they were ripped pretty bad i wouldnt count on them lasting real long. Unless they didnt rip a whole lot and wasnt really seperated.

They will hold till they blow, for $20 they dont need to last long....

Thinking 6th order, t-line or maybe tappered/folded horn? something fun and crazy

nah, them hx2's are very box hungry, my 10's like just over 2 cubes per sub!

thats for a 10"

I'm guessing if you ran winsid , the 8 would need like a 1.2

Just ran it through WinISD.....

With minimal parameters I could find online, it gave me 4.555cft @ 32hz for both, lol...

Im thinking if I just do a normal slot port, 2-2.2cft @ 32-33hz would be nice.....

ouch, yeah I toldja.

I think when I ran my 10" hx2s It was something like 2.1 cubes per.

But then again the 8" has a 2.5" coil where as the 10" is @ 3.0"

I know they arent real efficient, but they are fairly loud
