Box for 2 12'' solo x's

I am kinda new to building box's for subs. usually buy premade. but i need to find out how to figure out what kind of measurements i need on a box for two kicker solo x's. Any recommendations?

Good question haha. I am guessing about 3ft from side side in my car and height about 4ft and length i have quite a bit. I am currently deployed so i cant do exact measurements. I just need to konw how to calculate how much depth and all that good stuff i need for the box to get the most outta my speakers

all depends on how much space you have is what i have noticed to be my problem with the solo x. then again i have a lot smaller car than you do i bet.

1st off need to know if you planning on running them sealed or ported?

well you're talking about kenwood subs to start off...LOL

a well designed ported box will sound great. of course it won't have all the aspects of a sealed box, but if you have solo x's you might as well just use a ported box

Eh, I definitely wouldn't run it sealed...definitely more of a ported friendly woofer.

Ok so can someone tell me the difference for sealed and ported and what the pro's and con's are. Never really looked into ported boxes much ever?

A ported box can give you a lot more output. The box will take up about 2-3 times as much space as a sealed box though.
